Week of January 3 and January 9, 2017
Students are reading non-fiction texts/articles that address the topics in their Social Studies and Science classes. Students are reading about James Monroe and Monroe Doctrine, Andrew Jackson and The Indian Removal Act; Cholera and Cholera Epidemic in London. The readings and activities that the students complete in class include reading comprehension, reading strategies and constructive written responses. The activities are targeted to support and enhance students' reading behavior, vocabulary building and concept understanding so that students can make better progress at their core classes.
