Students work on using pronouns and nouns and the verb to be
​to read and write simple sentences. Students start reading a short story about communication and use vocabulary words about communication in reading, speaking and writing.

Week of August 6, 2018

Students will continue to work with the story from last week. Students analyze the story to identify story elements and sequence of events. Students complete writing activities, write a sequence paragraph in Google Classroom.

Week of August 13, 2018

Students read an essay Many People to Meet, study new vocabulary words from the text, analyze information from the text, write responses to questions. Students complete a Sequence Chain and write a summary of the text.
Students take a Unit Test on Thursday, August 16.

Week of August 20, 2018

Students read and analyze myth to identify characteristics of myths. Students complete reading and writing activities using content vocabulary of the lessons.Student review features of nonfiction text and create a fold-able.
